Stressful Week 2 or 3..... I'm not sure
So I have to write a syllabus for my class as well as make sure that all the other teachers are writing their syllabus's for the classes they are teaching. This week I learned that nothing is more annoying then sending out constant emails reminding people and asking them to not forget and them never replying..... anyways writing a syllabus is a lot harder than I thought it would be. I don't want to overload the schedule cause I do not want to fall behind but I don't want to make it too easy either. Hopefully I finish by Friday, plus I have an AChem exam Friday too (I know has nothing to do with the internship but I'm venting). Hope you all have a great week.

  1. I had to write a syllabus for the dance class that I will be teaching in just a few weeks and one of the things I found helpful was to look up examples of other syllabi. This gave me a better idea in deciding what to include as far as difficulty, and quantity. I also thought that I might have too much planned, and so I made some of the less crucial concepts optional, that way I can take them out if need be (and if I do have time to teach them, then great!) But, at least we have a 3-day weekend, so hopefully that will help relieve some of your stress! =)

  2. Think about the bright side, now you'll have practice writing a syllabus for when you're a teacher! Sorry your week isn't going as well as you had hoped, hopefully it will get better by the weekend! Contacting people can get pretty frustrating when the other party won't communicate back. I've found that becoming more confrontational can help in those situations as people will do anything to avoid confrontation, haha. Good luck on your exam, I hope you had enough time to study with all that you're dealing with. I'm sure you'll do great!

  3. Hang in there! I feel exhausted, too. I intern 32 hrs/wk and I'm taking 9 credits this sumer... we can do it! It's good to have exposure to writing a syllabus now, though, while you have access to help. Practice makes perfect, right?

  4. Maybe you should start giving them points off for late work! Wow, sounds like your busy right now, defiantly don't overload yourself. Hang in there, like Katherine said, you can do it. It will sure make for a fast summer being so busy though so be sure to get in some "you" time to keep refreshed!

  5. I can imagine how difficult a syllabus is... I feel like they are even difficult just to read! As long as you are organized and try to answer every question you can possibly think of about your class, it should be a good syllabus. Juggling school with the internship is tough, but you can do it! Good luck on your exam.
