Week 11

Things have been pretty calm here at the camp. We started getting ready for graduation this week because the camp end next Saturday. I'm excited to finally get my freedom back but I know I'm going to cry when these students leave. Looking back although it was a difficult summer and I was tired pretty much everyday I am so glad that I did it. All that's really left to do as far as the social media class goes is give the exit ticket. Anyways hope everyone is having a great week, I know I am.

Week 10

So this weeks been pretty normal at the camp, the students did great on their presentations. I`m very proud of them. One of my old mentors came to visit me this week from Miami. So i thought what better to do than to take her to the museum. We went to the museum (this was my fist time) and we saw both the butterfly rain forest and the Wolf to Wolff exhibit. IT WAS AWESOME!!!! I learned so much about butterflies and dogs. I had a great time and she did too. Ooh I also went to the planetarium on Saturday, it was cool i was just a little light headed throughout the show. Well that pretty much sums it up, hope everyone enjoys their week!

Hey guys!!

So these past few weeks have been pretty hectic we spontaneously took all the students to Georgia (that was a mess). Then this week we got 15 new students and we've just been working on making sure everyone feels accepted and what not. Oo and did I mention that the A/C's broke again..... Anyways the social media class is going well. Tomorrow night they have a project that they've been working on for two weeks due, I'm excited to see what the students bring to the table. Other than that the internships been pretty fun, I feel like my leadership skills have increased inmensly! I had no idea that I would grow this much in that area coming into it. So even though I'm exhausted 97 percent of the time I'm glad I chose to do it here.

Week 8

So its been pretty crazy here at the camp, feels like were always on the move and there`s always something that has to get done. You would think the students would be exhausted by the time curfew comes from all the work they've done throughout the day.... they're not instead they run around the dorms like wild monkeys. Anyways the social media class is going smoothly I had the students do a pretty cool activity for the YouTube portion of the class. I had debated using YouTube because it really isn't social media but I found that the students that didn't use social media did use YouTube and I'm trying to incorporate everyone. I'm glad I did that I got to see how competitive/creative these kids are. Other than monkeys jumping on beds and overly competitive students all is well. Have a great week!
