Week 6 Que Calor!

So this week got a little hectic; after the A/C's had gotten fixed (before the students got here) they broke again this week. So we spent three days moving bunk beds and drawers from one side of campus to the other. Work out of the YEAR!! I'm a little tired its been a lot of work moving everything while staying on top of students making sure they go to class and complete the assignments. Sunday (tomorrow) is the first day I teach and because its been so busy I haven't really had the chance to look over my notes which makes me a little stressed. But I'm sure it'll all be fine! (: Hope everyone is having a great week.

Week 5 Staff retreat before the madness

So over the weekend we went camping (which I had never been before) and they also took us to the springs! (which I had never been before). Funny the first thing I did when I got to the springs was check the water to see if the springs were actually as bad as they had told us in class. They were! but i still got in, the water was freezing but it was all really nice. I had such a great time and the mosquito bites to prove it. Monday was the students first day here the room I'm in charge of holds eleven other girls who all seem great. Tuesday is a fun day so hopefully i get to know them a lot more throughout the day. Well that's pretty much it for my internship hopefully everyone is having a great week.

Week 4: Everyone to work we have one week!!!

So this week has been pretty hectic seeing as we get the students in a week. I'm super excited!!!!!!!!! my curriculum is done I'm ready to take these students on. This week I moved into the dorm and got to know the other staff (picture on the right). We've been working hard cleaning dorms planning meals sharing class ideas and learning the rules and regulations. Its going to be a crazy summer we have to be up by six and there are a ton of things to do everyday. I've been warned by staff who have done this before that it is a lot of work and that I'm going to be really tired but I love challenges I'm excited! (probably super obvious by the amount of exclamation points I've used in just one post. Anyways ill let you guys know how my first week of actually teaching goes next week. Bye!

Stressful Week 2 or 3..... I'm not sure
So I have to write a syllabus for my class as well as make sure that all the other teachers are writing their syllabus's for the classes they are teaching. This week I learned that nothing is more annoying then sending out constant emails reminding people and asking them to not forget and them never replying..... anyways writing a syllabus is a lot harder than I thought it would be. I don't want to overload the schedule cause I do not want to fall behind but I don't want to make it too easy either. Hopefully I finish by Friday, plus I have an AChem exam Friday too (I know has nothing to do with the internship but I'm venting). Hope you all have a great week.

Week One

So my internship doesn't start till June but this week I met with my mentor to talk about the overview of the class that I will be teaching. While sitting in the classroom last week with my classmates I began to wonder if maybe I can take my students to the museum and get them to incorporate social media into the visit to the museum. I was thinking about giving them a pretest to see how much it is that they really know and a post test to see how much they actually learned in their visit. We also spoke about the syllabus and what assignments the students will be responsible for.
